Just off exit 32 on I-75 in Middletown, Ohio, so we’re easily accessible from the northern suburbs of Cincinnati to the southern suburbs of Dayton.

WHAT GRADES DO YOU OFFER?

Currently, we’re offering Jr. Kindergarten (a pre-Kindergarten half-day program) through 6th Grade. Beginning fall 2024 we’ll serve students through 7th Grade, and each year we’ll add a grade until we’re a Jr. K - 12th Grade school.

DO YOU MEET IN PERSON?

Yes, we do! We meet three or four days a week (depending on the grade) in person.

WHAT KIND OF CURRICULUM DO YOU USE?

We use Memoria Press.

WHY STUDY LATIN?

Latin dramatically improves a student’s vocabulary and elevates his SAT scores, but this is not the language’s primary function. For centuries, Latin has been deemed an exceptionally effective means of teaching grammar because its inherent forms teach the structure of language in a predictable manner and help to order a student’s mind.

WHY STUDY GREEK AND ROMAN HISTORY?

We don’t see our own history objectively and thus it is difficult to draw lessons and conclusions from it. It is still too close to us and has not been sifted through time.

We already know the end of the Greek and Roman story and the issues we struggle with today—economic, political, religious, and social—are present in the ancient world in their simplest form.

WHAT IS CLASSICAL EDUCATION?

It’s the model we use at Northstar. It also happens to be the model that was used in all of education until around 100 years ago. We’re part of a growing movement of parents and educators that believe that the old way - the one that educated many of the greatest minds in history - still works today. We read the best books, study the best art and music, and learn often-abandoned skills like cursive and times tables because those skills (and many others!) lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

HOW MUCH IS TUITION?

Our per-day cost is one of the lowest around. Tuition ranges in cost based on the grade of your student. We have a one-time application fee and an annual (per family) enrollment fee.

DO YOU OFFER TOURS?

Absolutely! Any family who is interested in Northstar is welcome to a personal Preview Day where you can actually see the Northstar way in action. Children are welcome!
